CEBU VICE GOV'S SON vs TALISAY CITY MAYOR'S ADOPTED SON: ABUSE OF POWER!

Joavan Fernandez: Controversial Mayor's Adopted son
Joavan Fernandez got a taste of street justice when his vehicle’s windshield was smashed outside his house in Talisay City last November 27 .
The attack was a reminder to pay his debt of P20,000.
An angry Leodegreco Sanchez, son of Cebu Vice Gov. Gregorio Sanchez Jr., led a group of 12 persons to the residence of the adopted son of Talisay Mayor Socrates Fernandez in barangay Bulacao, Talisay City [ast 2 a.m. to demand payment.
They knocked on Joavan’s door, but the 26-year-old didn’t show himself.
The visitors then smashed the windshield of Joavan's red Isuzu Trooper or Bighorn.
“Maningil lang unta ko sa iyang bayronon. Naa lagi panahon nga dili ta ka control sa atong temper, nibisita ko sa ilaha aron pagdisiplina niya. (I wanted to remind Joavan of his debt. There are times when we couldn't control our temper so I went to his house to discipline him),” Leodegreco said in a phone interview.
Local Newspaper reporters went to Joavan's residence yesterday to get his side of the dispute but he was not around.
No more vehicle was parked outside.
Talisay Mayor Fernandez did not answer calls made to his phone..
Vice Governor Sanchez, for his part, said he already talked with his son and that the spat between Joavan and Leodegreco was being ironed out.
“It was just a misunderstanding. Magsabot lang unta na sila. (They should settle things),” Sanchez said.
That incident was not reported to the Talisay City Police Station, said Supt. Henry Binas, the city police chief.
Binas advised the parties to seek the intervention of the court to settle their differences instead of doing violent acts.
Dili nila ibutang ang balaod sa ilang mga kamot. Naninghuna mi aron hapsay diri. Dili gyud mi mohatag og pabor bisan kinsa. (They should not take the law into their own hands. We are trying to maintain order here in Talisay. We won't favor anybody),” Binas said.
“We will arrest anyone who violates the law. We won’t hesitate to arrest the,” Binas warned.
Binas said police will verify accounts of the dispute between Joavan and Leodegreco but that it would be better for the aggrieved party to file a necessary complaint.
Leodegreco, 34, said he wasn't afraid if Joavan, 26, would file a complaint against him.
Wala ko mahadlok. Maski asa pa mi magatubang. Daghan na siyag sala nako. Og kadtong buak na windshield kuwang ra to ibayad sa akong utang (I'm not afraid. I'll meet him anywhere. He has wronged me many times and the broken windshield is not enough to pay his debt),” he said.
Leodegreco carries the title of vice president for general services of Lactopafi Techno Resources Corp., the company founded by his father who made a fortune producing and selling probiotic health tonic drinks.
Leodegreco said he wouldn't file charges against Joavan over the unpaid debt but warned that if Joavan doesn’t settle his obligation, he would visit Joavan again at home.
Og dili siya (Joavan) mo bayad, ako siyang bisitahon balik sa ila. Di lang ko mo-file og kaso kay dugay kaayo. (If Joavan won't pay his debt, I will visit him again in his residence. I won't file a case because it would take time before it would be resolved),” he said.
Leodegreco said the young man should honor his debts and change his ways.
“ He (Joavan) should be careful sa iyang behavior, kanang iyang pagkawalay batasan, iyang pagkabastos. (his boorish behaviour) ,” he said.
Leodegreco said he met Joavan in a bar in Talisay City last July 2010.
He said he was the one who contacted Joavan because he wanted to meet the controversial son of Mayor Fernandez.
He said they were good friends until last Oct. 31 when Joavan until an incident at a bar, where he was with Joavan and several friends at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
Joavan suddenly began to act rudely to Leodegreco's female companions.
Leodegreco said he lost his temper, got an ice bucket and hit Joavan with it.
Cooler heads intervened and Joavan decided to go home.
Leodegreco said that that was the time when Joavan figured in a vehicular accident with the Talisay City Police patrol car
Joavan's Pajero rammed into a police patrol car at the intersection of R. Rabaya Street and the South Coastal Road in barangay San Roque.
He went into hiding after the incident.
Charges of malicious mischief and direct assault were filed against Joavan Fernandez before the Talisay City Prosecutors' Office.
The incident at the Mandaue City bar was the beginning of the spat between Joavan and Leodegreco.
Leodegreco said he decided last Saturday to collect Joavan's P20,000 debt.
Leodegreco said t Joavan borrowed the money to pay for the bail of his driver, who was then detained after he was caught driving Joavan's vehicle without a license.
At around 2 a.m.that day, Leodegredo along with several companions on board three vehicles went to Joavan's resident in barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.
He said he had been texting Joavan to pay his debt but Joavan never answered his text messages.
Leodegreco said when they arrived he knocked on Joavan's door but no one came out.
He said his companions, out of frustration, decided to smash the winshield of Joavan's Isuzu Trooper parked outside Joavan's house.
Leodegreco said he didn't order them to do so.
He said Mayor Fernandez later called him on the phone and vowed to settle the issue.
Leodegreco is the the second of Vice Gov. Sanchez's three children.
In April 2009, Leodegreco underwent drug treatment and rehabilitation following the recommendation of a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) physician finding him a “drug dependent.”
His father, the vice governor, said his son was old enough to face the consequences of his life choices. On the other hand, Joavan is facing a string of charges in various courts for several offenses he committed including a pending case of possession of illegal drugs.
Mayor Fernandez however didn’t eeded calls especially from Rep. Eduardo Gullas (Cebu 1st district) to place Joavan in a rehabilitation center.
Joavan was out on bail for serious illegal detention for allegedly abducting and mauling vulcanizing shop workers Winston Abellana and cousin, Osbert on Aug. 11, 2008 whom he suspected of stealing his father's spare tire.
Joavan also has a pending case of possession of illegal drugs and ammunition.
Last June 4, Joavan was involved in another controversy after a businessman accused him of poking a gun at him during a traffic altercation.
Businessman Vincent Castrodes filed charges of violation of the election gun ban, illegal possession of firearms, and grave threats against Joavan .
Joavan was jailed but was released days later after posting bail. (Source: CDN)

Tsk Tsk! The sad reality of living in this honor-forsaken place! These are the people who think they are the LAW. They think they can do everything they want because their FATHERS hold high positions in Cebu. They think nobody can go against them even the police. What will happen to Cebu if these people will rule soon?!!!

Please stop using violence. Honor your fathers. And please think of the Cebuanos. Be a good role model for them. Instead of engaging activities like this, why don't you set a good example to others? If you intend to use powers of your "honorable fathers", then please use it on good purposes....

Watch Last Episode: Akihiro Sato Wins ‘Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown’

Brapanese model Akihiro Sato was voted the first celebrity sole survivor!

During the live season finale of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown last night at GMA studio, Akihiro received 3 votes from the 7 jury members, enough for him to win the title. He bested Ervic Vijandre, Solenn Heusaff and Aubrey Miles.
This is what went down during the finale:
Aubrey Miles became the 7th jury member after a nail-biting tie-breaker between her and Akihiro Sato was held.
Both Aubrey and Akihiro received 3 votes for elimination from the 6 jury members while Ervic and Solenn each got two vote-offs. The 6 jury members and now including Ervic and Solenn voted between Aubrey and Akihiro to break the tie. Moi, Solenn and Ervic voted off Akihiro but the rest voted against Aubrey, making the hot mama the 7th member of the jury.
Akihiro, Solenn and Ervic became the final 3 castaways vying for title and the cash prize of P3 million. The jury members (including the newest member Aubrey) cast their votes live once again and this time, they are voting for the one they want to win Survivor Philippines.
Here are the results:
Aubrey – Ervic
Moi – Akihiro
Elma – Solenn
Ahron – Ervic
Jon – Akihiro
Michelle – Solenn
Aira – Akihiro

Aki captured the hearts of the televiewers because he excelled in the physical challenges and he did not put anyone under the bus just to advance himself.
I must say, it’s a well-deserved win.

The Secrets to Guys Revealed!

For the past few months we have been asking guys the same questions that you girls usually ask us. Things like how to get a guy to notice you, how to get a guy to like you, etc. Although we thought we had the answers - we thought we'd go straight to the source - GUYS! Their answers weren't always surprising (see - we did learn something from our guy friends and ex-boyfriends!) but the number of responses were. It seems that there are tons of guys of all ages that want you to know their "secrets". So for all of you girls out there that want to know how to "get a guy" - here's how:
1. How does a girl get a guy to notice her?

The Number 1 answer was to be yourself! Theory being that if they're going to like you, they want to like the real you. Showing off seemed to be a big no-no, as did wearing a lot of makeup and looking like a tramp. Not that looks didn't matter - they did. Guys seem to like a girl that looks nice and makes an effort. Although this was more important to the teenage guys than the older the guys. So gals - show your personality - and look your best doing it.

Something else that was mentioned quite a bit was making a move. Guys don't like to have all of the pressure resting on their shoulders. Many suggested that girls should make the first move. Start a conversation. Say hi. Smile at the guy. Sometimes they are a bit clueless. Help 'em out a bit.

2. How do you get a guy to call you and ask you out?

Again, most of the answers were very similar - and probably not what you want to hear. #1 answer to this question was "You can't." There was no surefire way to "get a guy to call you". Sorry gals. But all is not hopeless. The 2nd most popular answer: Don't wait for it. Ask the guy out. If you're a bit shy, quite a few guys out there suggested that you find out the guy's interests, then hint at an upcoming event that you know he would like, and say you would like to go yourself. If he gets the hint - he may ask you out. Now, this would only work out in the end if it really was something that you would like. If there's nothing that you would both like - it probably won't work ou tin the end. Move on.

3. How do you ask a guy out so that he won't say no?

Again, there is no way to be sure a guy will say "yes". But there are ways to get the odds in your favor. #1 - build up a friendship with the guy. Make sure you have things in common. Talk to him a bit before asking him out. This could take weeks - or just hours. Make sure there's some sort of connection before asking him out. #2 - suggest something that the guy would want to do. For example: If he's been talking about wanting to see the latest action movie - ask him if he'd like to go. Many of the guys that answered our survey did say that they do like girls asking them out. But they hate scenes if they say no. If this should happen to you, play it cool. Sure it hurts - but as one guy said "Sometimes things come up and you just can't go. If I say no, but she's really cool about it, I may ask her out next time."

4. How do you make a guy like you?

OK - I think by now you can guess the answer to this one. That's right - you can't. Almost 100% of the guys we surveyed said you just can't make a particular guy like you. However, there are guys out there for every gal. How do you get someone to like you? Be yourself. Overwhelmingly our guys said they want a girl to be themselves. Having a sense of humor also ranked up there as well. We've said it before, and now we have guys saying it "Why would you want to make a guy like you? If he doesn't like you after knowing you - move on! Some other guy will."

5. What is the right way to flirt with a guy?

There are many ways to flirt with a guy it seems. But for most it comes down to just a few simple things: eye contact, smiling, laughter and conversation. So gals - if you like a guy - give him a little eye contact. Send your best smile. Start a conversation and be relaxed. If you're not a comedienne - you can still have a sense of humor. Laugh at his jokes. (But only if they're really funny, please.) If things seem to be going well - a little light physical contact can't hurt. Touch him on the arm while talking for instance. But don't get too touchy - especially at first. It can freak him out.

6. What's the one thing you should never tell a guy?

Although the answers differed slightly - the majority ruled that talking about your ex(es) and other guys that you like was a definite no-no. A guy doesn't want to hear what you like or liked about another guy. Just as we're sure you don't want to hear how hot the chick in the next booth is. Our guys also mentioned that this changes over time and that the closer you are with someone - the more you can mention your past. But it is still touchy for most.

Something else that ranked high on the list is that guys really don't want to hear about your periods. As one guy put it "Anything having to do with your period, its awkward for us, just like you'd feel awkward if we told you we killed a puppy or something..." So table the girlie talk gals...

7. What do you do if he's already got a girlfriend / wife?

LEAVE HIM ALONE! The best you can hope for is friendship - but it's even better to set your sights on someone else.

8. What should a girl say when giving a guy her phone number?

"Call me." It's simple - and what most guys answered. Others said they really don't care. The best line we got was "I'd really like to talk to you again." But for the most part the guys want you to play it cool - especially if they haven't asked for your number.

9. What would turn a guy off the most?

Talking about your ex, flirting with other guys, being fake, jealousy, clingy chicks and acting like a slut were the most common responses. Bad breath was also a turn off for a lot of guys - so be sure to keep some mints handy.

10. How can a girl tell if a guy likes her? What are the signs?

How can you tell if a guy likes you? According to them - it's easy (sure it is......):

He'll talk to you more - or less.

He'll hang around you more - or less.

He'll act shy around you - or flirt with you more.

He'll make eye contact with you.

He'll smile at you.

Uh huh. Thanks guys. LOL. Communication seems to be key. Listen to how a guy talks to you. Does he seem more nervous around you than he did before? Or does he ask about you more? Most guys had different responses - but all seemed to agree that if you really paid attention - you would be able to tell. And if you can't tell - ask. (That's what the guys said - not us.)

We gave guys a chance to offer any additional comments or advice, and here is a bit of what a few had to say:

Girls, never be someone who you are not. You don't want to end up living the rest of your life a lie. Its not fun.
It is acceptable for women to express interest in a man.

Take the initiative, a lot of guys hesitate, and both people possibly miss out...
Just be yourself. That's the best way to attract YOUR mate. If he can't accept you without your social status or who you hang out with, then he isn't worth it.
*** and love are very different in the mind of a guy, most guys will sleep with any attractive female who shows interest, but they are surprisingly picky about falling in love.
If you dont try you wont know ..give it a shot ... you'll do fine!
